The Dark Knight: Movie Review

I saw the most awaited movie this year (atleast for me), the Dark Knight today, the sequel to the much liked Batman Begins, the movie surely does justice to the hype surrounding its release.

Firstly, it is the typical action movie you would want to see in a cinema - the cinematography is great, the soundwork and the visual candy is just deserving enough to pay 150 rupees for alone(that too for a 2 hr 24 min treat ) but there is more - and by the time you are leaving the hall, it is one of those rare occasions when you want to wait and watch the credits - kind of that hangover after an enthralling time.

This one has two of the bad guys(so called?) - the Joker, and Two Face - comic readers are probably aware about these two already.
The Joker is probably the most atttractice character in the movie - notorious like captain Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean, but just as very dark, in his own comic ways. The guy leaves you laughing even for sadistic elements in the movie and oh I almost forgot - its brilliantly done by Heath Ledger, the acting is just amazing.

The first half is pretty decent - small action sequences, not alot of story, but everything is just developing. Frankly, I believe they could have cut down some crap in the first half, because the it sometimes gets boring and monotonous. But don't get disheartened while you are watching the movie - you are nowhere close to reaching the awesome storyline this movie has to offer until you watch the second half - one and a quarter hour passes like a breeze, and all the time you are on the edge of your seat trying to figure out whats going to happen in each scene. The characters almost fall into their places, and you can appreciate where everybody is going and their mindset.

To finish things off, the ending is superb - you get the whole moral concept thingy which I personally was missing until the very end(or the last 15 minutes), and by the time you are going out of the halls, you can start pondering about the name of the movie and write answers to one of those typical 'Justify the title' questions in study of literature.

Must watch!
I gave it 8/10 on IMDb, because of the slightly off first half.
